Agency Tool Company
Agency Tool Company builds OTA deployment and hardware-backed CI infrastructure for robotics teams shipping real-world
The Problem
Robotics teams building and deploying fielded robots do not have good infrastructure options because existing cloud and IoT tooling assumes disposable, identical, always-connected machines, while fielded robots are more like pets than cattle. Today teams cope with engineers SSH'd into robots after midnight to push updates, spreadsheets tracking per-robot configurations and calibrations, and manual processes for building, downloading, and switching software versions in the field. Flaky LTE, marginal warehouse WiFi, and dead zones mean large installs rarely complete uninterrupted, forcing some teams to ask customers to bring robots to areas with good networking just to apply an update. This friction and risk makes operations and customer teams wary of shipping updates at all.
The Solution
ATC Deploy is an over-the-air update and fleet-management tool, installed with a single line, that moves application bundles, container images, configuration, and models from development into the field with control over transfer, activation, and rollout. It uses smart delta updates and compression claimed to be 20x faster than a docker pull, supports resumable downloads that pick up after interruptions, and offers Channels to target artifacts like calibrations and configs to specific robots or fleet segments. It works with existing stacks including ROS, ROS2, DimOS, CUDA, Zenoh, and migrates from tools like Mender or Balena. ATC Build, described as coming soon, is a CI runner backed by hosted Jetson hardware (Orin Nano, NX, AGX, Thor) that plugs into GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, letting teams run continuous integration on the same silicon and accelerators used in production rather than emulating it, with continuous performance profiling to catch target-hardware bugs before deployment.
