investorsGo ("investorsGo," "we," "us," or "our") operates the investorsGo platform accessible at investorsgo.coand related mobile or web applications (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. This Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information we collect automatically through your use of the Platform, and information from third parties.
A. Information You Provide
Account Registration: When you create an account, we collect your first name, last name, username, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash). You may also provide a profile picture and a short bio.
Profile Information: Depending on your account type (Builder, Investor, or both), you may provide:
- Location, years of experience, and social links (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, GitHub, personal website)
- Education history (school, degree, field of study, graduation year)
- Professional background (current role, previous companies, descriptions)
- Businesses founded (company name, industry, status, and outcomes)
- Skills, industry expertise, and current funding stage sought
- Investor type, investment thesis, stage preferences, check size (minimum/maximum), and portfolio companies
- Achievements, recognitions, and areas of expertise
Marketplace Listings: If you create a startup listing, we collect: company name, logo, industry, stage, one-liner and detailed descriptions, problem statement, solution, traction signals (users, revenue, partnerships), team member details (name, role, university, LinkedIn, image), funding targets, use of funds, and supporting media or links.
Communications: When you send messages on the Platform, we store message content (up to 5,000 characters per message), timestamps, read receipts, any file or media attachments (type, URL, name, size), and the context in which the conversation was initiated. We also store conversation archive and block statuses.
Competition & Event Participation: When you host or apply to competitions, we collect application details including pitch videos, demo URLs, GitHub links, custom field responses, judge scores, scoring feedback, and finalist or winner designations.
Project Updates & Milestones: Content you post as project updates (goals, actions taken, metrics, learnings, next steps) and milestones (titles, descriptions, target dates, completion status, and proof of completion).
Micro-Actions: Details of tasks you create or accept, including descriptions, expected outcomes, completion proof, attachments, ratings (1–5 stars), and feedback.
Social Content: Posts, comments, likes, and follows you create or engage with on the Platform, including any media, hashtags, and mentions contained in that content.
Contact & Support: When you submit a contact form or support request, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), inquiry category, subject, and message content.
Newsletter Subscriptions: If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address.
Subscription & Billing: When you purchase a paid plan, we collect billing information. Payment card data is processed by our third-party payment processor and is not stored on our servers.
B. Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages and features you visit, actions you take (swipes, likes, views, shares, saves), search queries, and content you interact with
- Device & Browser Information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, and approximate geographic location derived from IP
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: Session tokens, authentication cookies, and preference cookies (see Section 5)
- Log Data: Server-side request logs including timestamps, request paths, and response codes
C. Information from Third Parties
We may receive limited profile information if you choose to connect or authenticate using a third-party service in the future. Currently, we use credentials-based authentication only.

How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account; authenticate your identity
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform and its features
- Connect builders and investors through matchmaking, messaging, and discovery features
- Power AI-driven features such as profile analysis, listing assistance, and content summarization (see Section 4)
- Send transactional communications: account verification, password resets, competition notifications, match alerts, and score releases
- Send promotional and marketing communications, subject to your opt-out preferences
- Process subscription payments and manage your plan status, including automatic expiry and reversion to the free tier
- Compute platform reputation scores (Conviction Score, Reliability Score, Attention Investment Score) based on your activity
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and unauthorized access
- Enforce our Terms of Service and applicable law
- Analyze aggregate, anonymized trends to improve the Platform
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from law enforcement or government authorities
Legal Bases (if you are in the EEA/UK): We process your data on the bases of contract performance (to provide the service), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and product improvement), consent (marketing emails), and legal obligation (compliance with applicable law).

How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
A. With Other Platform Users
Information you choose to make public on your profile, listings, posts, milestones, or project updates is visible to other users of the Platform according to your visibility settings. Investors with matching subscriptions may access additional builder profile details. Messages are shared only with the intended recipient(s).
B. With Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party vendors who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements. These include:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hosting, storage, and database services
- Payment Processing: Third-party payment processors (your payment card data is handled directly by them and is not stored by investorsGo)
- Email Delivery: Transactional and marketing email services
- AI Services: Anthropic, PBC (Claude API) for AI-powered features — see Section 4
- Analytics: Aggregated usage analytics tools
C. For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (i) comply with applicable law or a valid legal process; (ii) protect the rights, property, or safety of investorsGo, our users, or the public; or (iii) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
D. Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
E. With Your Consent
We may share your information with third parties when you explicitly consent to such sharing.
Section 04
AI-Powered Features
investorsGo integrates artificial intelligence features powered by the Anthropic Claude API. These features may include profile improvement suggestions, listing analysis, pitch feedback, content summarization, and other AI-assisted tools.
When you use an AI-powered feature, relevant portions of your content (such as your profile, listing description, or input text) may be transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. This data is used solely to generate the AI response returned to you and is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy and usage policies.
Important: Do not submit sensitive personal information (such as government-issued ID numbers, financial account numbers, medical information, or passwords) through any AI-powered feature on the Platform.
investorsGo does not use your personal data to train AI models beyond what is disclosed in this policy. Anthropic may process data in accordance with its own agreements — you can review their privacy practices at anthropic.com/privacy.
Section 05
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Platform. A cookie is a small text file placed on your device.
- Essential Cookies: Required for authentication (session tokens), security, and core Platform functionality. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Platform.
- Preference Cookies: Store your settings such as dark/light mode theme preference.
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how users interact with the Platform so we can improve it. Data collected is aggregated and anonymized where possible.
You can configure your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to the Platform.
Section 06
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform. When you delete your account:
- Your profile, listings, posts, and messages will be removed from public view within 30 days
- Backups and logs may retain certain data for up to 90 days before permanent deletion
- We may retain anonymized, aggregated data derived from your activity indefinitely for analytics and product improvement
- We may retain certain information longer if required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or prevent fraud
Competition application records, scores, and finalist/winner designations may be retained for the duration of a competition program even after account deletion, to preserve the integrity of competition results.
Section 07
Minors & Age Requirements
The Platform is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you are between the ages of 16 and 17 (a "Minor"), you may only use the Platform with the verified consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has agreed to our Terms of Service on your behalf.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under the age of 16 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as promptly as possible. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, please contact us immediately at useinvestorsgo@gmail.com.
For users under 18 located in California, we comply with California's minor privacy protections, including the ability to request removal of content or information posted by the minor. Please contact us to exercise this right.

Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
All Users
- Access & Portability: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Opt-Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email we send or by contacting us
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- The right to know what personal information is collected, used, disclosed, or sold
- The right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
- The right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information

EEA / UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, object to processing of, and port your personal data. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
- Password hashing using bcrypt with appropriate salt rounds
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- JWT-based session management with expiration controls
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
- Regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure
Despite these measures, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the applicable authorities as required by law.

Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to external websites, demo projects, GitHub repositories, or social media profiles operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
Certain integrations (e.g., embedded demo links, external portfolio pages) may allow third parties to collect data about your interactions with their content, subject to their own privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date
- Sending an email notification to your registered email address for material changes
