The Problem

Companies building AI agents that shop online need a way for those agents to pay at checkout without exposing raw card numbers or forcing users through KYC. One-time virtual cards strip users of rewards points and dispute rights, break recurring payments, and often require a separate app. Network tokenization approaches like Visa Intelligent Commerce or Click to Pay only work for about 8% of cards, excluding Chase, prepaid, and commercial BINs like Brex or Ramp, and non-US cards. Teams building consumer, B2B, and crypto agent products were left without infrastructure that lets an agent complete a checkout on any merchant site using a real card while keeping the card itself hidden from the agent, the integrator, and Agentcard.

The Solution

Agentcard offers three products: Vault, which stores a user's real card (encrypted with a passkey only the user can decrypt) and lets an agent use it with Face ID approval; Issuing, which creates one-time or multi-use virtual cards funded by the company (issued by Rain, settled in USDC on Base); and the Purchase Agent, a /buy endpoint with native integrations for Amazon, DoorDash, eBay, Best Buy and airlines, plus 23 mapped payment processors (Stripe, Adyen, Shopify, Checkout.com, Braintree, Worldpay and more). The agent fills a cart with a dummy card, Agentcard intercepts the checkout request, the user approves via push or iMessage with Face ID, and the real card is sent to the merchant with a trusted-agent signature, with the final request issued from the user's device to reduce bot-detection failures. It integrates with browser automation tools (Kernel, Browserbase, Browser Use, Anchor, or a user's own Chromium) and messaging platforms (Linq, Blooio) for approval flows, supports per-card spend limits and auto-approval thresholds, and includes a card router that picks a user's best card per merchant for rewards.
