The Problem

Internal audit teams spend significant time manually gathering evidence through back-and-forth PBC requests, testing controls one by one across ITGC and financial reviews, and investigating exceptions before they can be documented in workpapers. This work is spread across many systems (Workday, Okta, ServiceNow, Active Directory, SharePoint, Slack/Teams) and requires tracing exceptions back to source data, which is slow and repetitive. Audit teams also need outputs that match formats their external auditors already expect, such as alignment with PCAOB AS 2201 and COSO frameworks, adding further overhead to manual processes.

The Solution

Arden is an AI system that maps audit processes into flowcharts from policies, docs, and walkthrough notes, then automatically gathers evidence by crawling systems, taking screenshots, and pulling data via API. It tests controls end to end, mapping to a company's RCM and running tests across the full suite from ITGC to financial reviews. When exceptions arise, Arden investigates root causes by tracing them to source systems before they reach a workpaper, and it continuously monitors controls, alerting teams with a remediation playbook when something breaks. The platform connects to enterprise systems like Workday and Okta via read-only APIs, uses computer-use agents for deeper evidence capture, and integrates with GRC platforms like AuditBoard and Workiva, pulling control definitions and writing completed workpapers back. Every action is logged and replayable, with conclusions traceable to the specific field, file, and timestamp, and workpapers finalize only after human reviewer sign-off.
