The Problem

Developers of mobile apps need to know where their app actually ranks for relevant keywords across countries and stores, and whether changes they make to their listing (title, subtitle, keywords) actually help. Many ASO tools estimate ranks rather than measuring them, and it is hard to tell if a listing change worked versus normal day-to-day rank fluctuation. Without real, repeated measurement and a disciplined before/after comparison, developers risk reacting to noise, missing corrections the store itself makes to typed keywords, or losing ground to competitors on key search terms like 'daily planner'.

The Solution

ASO Gauge is a macOS app that searches the App Store (175 countries, iPhone/iPad/macOS apps) and Google Play (chosen countries and languages) the way real customers do, three times a day per keyword, recording the median rank and the spread between best and worst result. It classifies every keyword's daily status into one of six states (rank, not ranked, corrected, suspect, failed, skipped) so no result is ambiguous, and it runs daily checks to catch store or page issues. Its AI generates listing proposals (20 a month) from the measured ranks, which are then checked line by line by code against App Store and Google Play rules before the user sees them, covering things like character limits, competitor names, banned claims, and missing brand terms. When a listing is changed, it opens an experiment comparing ranks from the 7 days before to the days after, delivering a verdict (helped, hurt, no effect, or not enough data) on day 28 to avoid calling early noise a result.
