The Problem

Builders who want to sell software or digital products globally must otherwise stitch together separate systems for tax registration, payouts, affiliate tracking and billing before they can charge a single customer. This means registering for VAT in countries they have never visited, handling fraud and chargebacks themselves, and reconciling affiliate commissions manually. Usage based products like AI tools need metering, credit wallets and per-customer usage visibility that generic payment processors do not provide. A plain payment processor only moves money, leaving the seller responsible for tax filing and dispute handling in every market they sell into.

The Solution

Creem acts as the merchant of record on every sale, becoming the legal seller and handling payment processing, tax calculation and remittance, invoicing, fraud screening and chargebacks across 190+ countries. It supports credit wallets, usage based pricing with custom meters (for tokens, API calls, storage or seats), free allowances and caps, with usage visible per customer and period. Built in affiliates, revenue splits and short links let sellers route commissions to partners automatically and track clicks and conversions with QR codes and geo/device targeting. The platform is API, CLI and MCP first, so an AI agent can create products, open checkouts and manage subscriptions programmatically, and native iPhone/Android apps push real-time sale notifications. Checkout can run on the seller's own domain, and payouts go to the seller's bank account on a predictable schedule.

Why Now?

The site frames itself as built for 'the AI era,' designed for agent-driven setup (via SKILL.md, CLI and MCP) and for usage based billing on AI consumption like tokens and API calls, where traditional billing tools fall short.
