Dalet Labs builds a generative interface that helps online shoppers discover products they didn't know they wanted
The Problem
Online shoppers often don't know exactly what they want until they see it, discovering preferences through visual exploration rather than predefined search terms. Most commerce tools today, including chatbots, search bars, categories, and product listings, are built on the assumption that the shopper already knows what they're looking for. This leaves a gap for the kind of undirected, curiosity-driven browsing that leads people to discover a style, product, or combination of items they never would have searched for.
The Solution
Dalet Labs has built a generative interface called Scene that produces a visual feed of lifelike scenes featuring real products across brands and categories, without requiring a specific search or predefined intent. User interactions shape what gets generated next, so the feed adapts as the person's preferences and interests evolve over time. Instead of listing products directly, the system shows them in context within generated scenes, helping people discover items they might not have considered on their own. Every product shown can be purchased through a unified checkout without leaving the app, and the company calls this overall approach Generative Commerce. The product is currently available as an iOS app accessible by request for early access.
