The Problem

Finance teams run the close and related workflows across separate systems like ERPs, CRMs, billing tools and spreadsheets that hide context from each other. When numbers disagree, such as cash balances across ledgers, billing, and bank data, teams have to manually investigate breaks and assemble support while source records stay siloed. Variance explanations often trace back to a summary someone typed in a workbook rather than the underlying records and drivers. Unsupported items in tax and compliance reporting can stay buried in a workbook instead of being made explicit.

The Solution

Definite maps a company's finance systems into one connected ontology that people, dashboards, and agents all work from, without changing the data stored in source systems. For each workflow, such as reconciliation, FP&A, billing, or tax, it keeps every competing value visible and applies a configured resolution rule, including source priority, majority agreement, exact match, threshold, or mandatory review, leaving items unresolved if the rule cannot support one answer. Every figure carries source lineage down to the record, field, or file cell, and each run is sealed with its inputs, mappings, rules, parameters, results, and review decisions so a prior period can be rebuilt as it appeared at the time. Language models can propose mappings, matches, and explanations, but deterministic rules perform calculations, matching, and validations, and people approve decisions when required. Definite can be deployed hosted, in a customer cloud or VPC, on premises, or air-gapped, and connection setup rejects credentials that can write to a source system.
