The Problem

Employers who offer dental insurance to employees are often relying on plans that cap coverage around $1500 a year, a limit the page says has not changed since the 1970s. The page claims that for every $1 collected in premiums, only 60 cents goes toward actual care. Legacy plans reimburse 100% of cleanings, 80% of basic care, and only 50% of advanced procedures, so employees end up paying large amounts out of pocket, for example $500 or more of a $1000 crown. This leaves employees with benefits that function less like real insurance and more like a thin subsidy.

The Solution

Denta replaces traditional dental insurance with a debit-style Denta card loaded with an annual coverage amount chosen by the employer, such as $1,000, $1,500, or $2,000. Employers set up coverage in three steps shown on the site: select a coverage cap, add the team via payroll integration or an invite link sent through Slack or email, and employees then use the Denta card directly at the dentist. The card displays remaining coverage after each visit, for example dropping from $2,000 to $1,800 after a $200 visit, giving employees direct visibility and control over their remaining dental funds.
