The Problem

89% of children in Sub-Saharan Africa cannot read and understand a simple text by age 10. Existing schools lack the academic systems, teacher support, and operational discipline needed to deliver effective learning and sustainable profit.

The Solution

DUMA manages existing private schools for a share of revenue, providing proprietary ERP software, financial discipline, curriculum-aligned teaching playbooks, coaching, AI-powered practice tools (Numa), and shared marketing/admissions systems to improve both learning outcomes and school profitability.

Why Now?

A ~$20bn private-school tuition market across Sub-Saharan Africa with 149,000 non-state schools and 50m pupils remains underserved; starting in Kenya alone offers massive room to scale with proven early results from DUMA's first managed school.

What Makes This Hard?

Schools lose money through untracked unpaid fees, unscrutinized cash spending, and lack of budget ownership, while improving actual learning outcomes requires coordinated academic content, teacher coaching, and technology across many independently owned schools.
