Keyframe Labs
Keyframe Labs builds lifelike, controllable AI avatar models for real-time, interactive conversations with users.
The Problem
Companies building conversational AI agents need avatars that feel human, with realistic lip sync, expression, and motion, but existing solutions are often slow, inflexible, or low quality. Latency is a major barrier to natural conversation, and many avatar systems lack fine-grained emotional control or struggle to scale to many simultaneous users. Businesses that want to turn a portrait image into a production-ready avatar also need output quality matching stock-library standards, which is not easy to achieve. Without these capabilities, AI agents feel robotic rather than lifelike, limiting their use in enterprise and consumer-facing applications.
The Solution
Keyframe Labs develops human foundation models, including persona-2.0-live and persona-1.5-live (a 200M parameter model), that power lifelike, real-time interactive avatars. The platform offers word-level control over expression, photorealistic rendering with accurate lip sync and hair/lighting dynamics, and a broad range of controllable emotions from neutral to angry to scared. It claims 180ms time-to-first-byte latency versus 450ms+ for other providers, and supports image-to-avatar conversion to turn any portrait into a production-ready avatar. Developers can integrate via JavaScript SDK and APIs, pairing the avatar with any LLM or voice model (OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Gemini, Cartesia, and others), with a stated 5-minute setup. Enterprise features include thousands of concurrent sessions, multi-region servers (US, EU, Asia), and a zero data retention mode.
