The Problem

Mac users who dictate, take calls, transcribe files, manage documents, track expenses and convert files today rely on separate apps, cloud services, or manual effort for each task. Dictation tools often require internet access and send audio to servers, which fails offline and raises privacy concerns. Transcribing calls or files, tracking dates and to-dos from conversations, and converting between file formats typically means switching between multiple tools, copying information by hand, and losing context. There is no single keyboard-driven way to turn speech, screen content and files into usable, searchable documents without uploading data to the cloud.

The Solution

Koi lives in a small dock on the edge of the Mac screen and is controlled with four keys combined with fn: Control to record any call, Option to dictate in any app, and Command to talk to an AI that sees the screen and can draw, fix writing or click for the user. Dictation runs fully offline on-device in 100 languages using a choice of seven voice models (Parakeet built in, plus Whisper, Qwen, Cohere and Granite). Recorded calls capture both sides of the conversation, work across Zoom, Meet, Teams or browser calls, stay hidden from screen shares, and can generate titles, summaries and to-do lists. Everything lands in a built-in document editor with tables, charts, flashcards and equations, and the app also includes a calendar that merges Google and Apple calendars with call-derived dates, an expense tracker, and a Shift wheel for dragging files into quick conversion, compression or editing tools, all stored locally on the Mac.
