Air travelers need to know live details about their flights beyond what airlines typically share, such as gate changes, delays, baggage belt assignment, and whether their aircraft has Wi-Fi. They also need to know how long airport security and immigration lines will take, which is hard to estimate before arriving at the airport. Travelers' families also want to know when a loved one has taken off or landed without having to ask. Today this information is scattered or unavailable, forcing people to guess wait times or rely on less accurate airline notifications.

Lufthaven is an iPhone app that tracks flights live, showing gate, departure and arrival times, terminal, and baggage belt, updated in real time. It reports live airport security and immigration wait times at many airports, shows whether a given flight has Starlink Wi-Fi, and displays a plane's position in the FAA takeoff queue and its ground progress at supported US airports using FAA data. It uses the iPhone's Dynamic Island to show gate and boarding status, lets users track an incoming plane's location and arrival time, keeps a history of flown routes, miles traveled, and airports visited, and lets family members get notified when someone takes off or lands. It also offers flight and security wait lookups through ChatGPT and Claude integrations.
