The Problem

People who write a lot of code with AI tools like Claude and Codex have no physical, tangible way to see or feel their usage building up over time. Separately, makers and hobbyists who want small smart devices such as an air quality monitor, a plant companion, or a pet water reminder typically need to source electronics parts and assemble them themselves, which requires technical know-how most casual builders do not have. Today these people either go without a physical representation of their work or cobble together their own hardware projects from scratch.

The Solution

Makeable's first product, Ember, is a desk pet that is fed by Claude and Codex tokens, growing as the owner burns more tokens, and is currently available for pre-order. Beyond Ember, Makeable offers a build platform where users describe what they want to build in plain language and the system matches the needed parts for them. The site lists several additional builds in development, including a Study Desk Companion, Plant Companion, Motion Light, Window Air Monitor, Pet Water Reminder, and Quiet Door Chime, all marked as coming soon. A gallery shows example builds such as a window air monitor, a pet water reminder, and a quiet door chime, illustrating the range of projects the platform can produce.
