Melty
Melty lets PC gamers play one-click mashups and mods that combine games they already own.
The Problem
Players who want to mod or combine their PC games typically face manual setup, compatibility issues, and fragmented tools before they can actually play. Finding, installing, and configuring mashups or mods usually requires technical know-how, and playing with friends on modded content adds further friction around syncing installs and invites. Gamers who want to create their own mashups also need a way to build and share them without starting from scratch. Melty's site frames these as the problems it removes: setup, installation, and distribution of game mashups and mods.
The Solution
Melty is a free Windows application that lets users discover, play, and create mashups and mods of games they already own in their library, such as SkyCraft (Skyrim as a Minecraft player), Super Mario Ring, Skate Warfare, Portal Life, and Elden Craft. Pressing Play downloads the mashup, installs what it needs, and starts the game, and uninstalling restores all original files. Multiplayer mashups come with a shareable invite link that can be kept private or made public. To create a mashup, users copy Melty's instructions into a coding agent like Claude Code or Codex, describe what they want, and the agent builds and publishes it; every upload is checked for dangerous files and can be reported if something looks wrong. Users must already own the underlying games, and Melty redirects them to its store if a game is missing.
