NagMeLater
A WhatsApp-native reminder, to-do, and productivity bot. No app to install, no account to create.
The Problem
People don’t forget because they lack apps. They forget because reminders fire where they’re easy to ignore. Calendar pushes and to‑do app alerts get buried under notifications, don’t work well across devices, and rarely support natural language or local languages. Missed bills, filings, and follow‑ups silently turn into late fees, lost revenue, and broken trust.
The Solution
NagMeLater turns WhatsApp into an external brain. You just text what you want to remember in plain language (“remind me on the 5th to pay rent”, “every Monday 8am send weekly report”) in any language, and it replies as a WhatsApp message at exactly the right time. No new app, no signup, no learning curve. One bot chat handles reminders, to‑dos, habit streaks, goals, and daily check‑ins.
Why Now?
WhatsApp has passed 2B users and is the primary messaging layer across India, Brazil, and much of the Global South, but “reminders on WhatsApp” are still hacked together with pinned chats and starred messages. At the same time, notification fatigue has made traditional reminder apps less effective. The timing is right for a WhatsApp‑native assistant that rides an existing habit instead of asking users to form a new one.
What Makes This Hard?
Reliability and language are non‑trivial. Parsing messy, multilingual, mixed‑script text (“kal 5 baje rent pay karna”) into precise schedules demands robust NLP and careful edge‑case handling. On top of that, we must maintain rock‑solid delivery across WhatsApp’s constraints, time zones, long‑running schedules, and subscription logic, while keeping the UX as simple as texting a friend.
