The Problem
People who want to blog often abandon it because the tools get in the way: complicated publishing workflows, apps to open, passwords to remember, and platforms that bundle in bloat or lock writers into a specific ecosystem. Independent writers who already use tools like Obsidian or iA Writer, or who simply want to send an email, are left without a lightweight way to turn that into a published post. Managing the 'essentials' of a blog such as themes, subscribers, comments, analytics, and a custom domain typically means stitching together several separate services. This overhead becomes friction that stops people from writing consistently, and existing posts elsewhere can feel stuck if a writer wants to switch platforms.
The Solution
Pagecord lets people publish a post by sending an email, using a built-in rich text/Markdown editor, or through integrations with Obsidian, iA Writer, an API, and a CLI. It bundles the core components of a personal blog in one place: posts, pages, themes, tags, RSS, media embeds, search, and full HTML/Markdown site export with no lock-in. The paid Premium tier adds custom domains, privacy-respecting analytics, email newsletter subscriptions with weekly digests, comments with spam filtering and approval, reply-by-email, an embeddable contact form, custom CSS and code, and support for up to three blogs per account. The platform also offers to migrate existing posts from other blogging platforms for new users.
