Parametric
Parametric builds Bit, an autonomous robot for repetitive warehouse tasks like box assembly, pack out
The Problem
Warehouses rely on repetitive manual tasks such as box assembly, pack out, taping and folding that are costly and labor intensive to staff. Businesses today must hire and manage human workers for this repetitive work, since fully autonomous robots for these tasks have not been reliable enough to run without constant supervision. The text shows this is an ongoing challenge: as recently as February 2026 Parametric's own robots were operating with 0% autonomy, meaning humans had to intervene for nearly all robot actions.
The Solution
Parametric offers Bit, a robot that can be hired to perform repetitive warehouse work including box assembly, pack out, taping and folding. Bit learns these tasks over time using real-world manipulation data, with the company reporting 130,000 episodes of manipulation data and over 3,500 hours of real-world robot operation collected so far. To operate robots at scale, Parametric built Bastion, a fleet management app that shows live robot status, task and policy assignments, autonomy rates by hour, and flags moments when a robot needs human help or teleoperation, such as a box flap failing to fold after repeated tries. The company also documents hardware iteration across multiple robot versions, from a static torso to added lift and a 4-DoF head, with another version in progress.
