The Problem

Compliance teams at regulated companies (mortgage, insurance, lending, debt collection, money transmitter) manage licensing today with spreadsheets and manual tracking across all 50 states. Renewal deadlines get buried in files no one updates, regulatory changes surface weeks late via outside counsel, and the month before a state exam is spent in survival mode. Rosters of licensed individuals (MLOs on NMLS, adjusters and producers on NIPR) are tracked by hand, leaving companies one missed renewal away from unlicensed activity. The page frames this as skilled teams doing mechanical work that a system should handle instead.

The Solution

Payna is a system of record for licensing and compliance, built around four products: Apply (new state license applications for companies), Seats (per-person licensing for MLOs, adjusters, and producers at roster scale, including MU4 filings, sponsorships, and CE tracking), Maintain (renewals, amendments, call reports, exam prep, and regulatory change monitoring), and an API for real-time programmatic access to license status, sponsorship state, CE completion, and regulatory actions. The platform pre-fills applications and renewals, drafts BSA/AML policy updates, generates call reports from ledger data, routes documents for e-signature, and files on completion, with a compliance team approving before anything goes out. It monitors all 50 US state statutes, NMLS and NIPR procedures, and FinCEN requirements continuously, and keeps a timestamped, queryable, audit-ready history of every action so an examiner package can assemble quickly.
