The Problem
Language learners who want to build vocabulary often turn to general apps like Duolingo, which focus on short gamified lessons rather than deep retention of specific words, or to generic tools like Anki, which require manual flashcard setup and don't track progress by skill. This leaves learners with messy word lists, no way to track how well they know a word across writing, listening, speaking, and definitions separately, and no structured system for revisiting words at the right time. The result is that many words are recognized once and then forgotten, since there is no dedicated workflow for saving, organizing, and re-testing vocabulary specifically.
The Solution
Polidict lets users save words with AI-suggested translations, definitions, and examples, which they can edit and keep the version that fits. Each word can include images for visual memory and audio pronunciation, and words can be grouped into custom collections by topic, course, exam, or level so review sessions stay focused. The app uses spaced repetition with adaptive scheduling across five training modes (flashcards, quizzes, writing, listening, and speaking), and tracks mastery separately for writing, listening, speaking, and definitions so learners can spot weak areas. It is available on iPhone and iPad, with an Android version planned, and offers a free Basic tier plus a paid Plus tier with unlimited words, collections, and AI help.
