The Problem

Creators and indie builders who post the same content across Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Mastodon and other networks often end up copy-pasting the same post into five different apps every day. The founder describes building in public and manually repeating this process himself. Existing scheduling tools were, in his words, too expensive, too bloated, or missing support for the platforms indie builders actually use, like Bluesky, Mastodon, Pixelfed, Nostr or Lemmy. Features like first-comment automation are often limited to Instagram only on competing tools such as Buffer and Hootsuite, leaving a gap for creators who want it across more networks.

The Solution

Posthive lets users compose a post once in a single editor and publish it across up to fourteen platforms, including Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Pixelfed, YouTube, Facebook Pages, Pinterest, X, Telegram, Nostr, Discord, Tumblr, Lemmy and TikTok, with per-platform previews and character limits handled automatically. It supports Instagram Reels, Stories and carousels, a drag-to-reschedule calendar with month/week/day views, per-platform text and first-comment overrides, and bulk scheduling from a CSV file with per-row platform exclusion and image attachments. A reliability layer uses a BullMQ-backed queue with automatic retries, and an AI caption assist (powered by Claude) can rewrite, expand or polish captions in one click. The product also exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so AI agents like Claude, Cursor or Codex can draft and schedule posts, with drafts requiring user approval before publishing. Posthive is self-hostable under an AGPL-3.0 open source license.
