PricklyMails
Real-time email verification API that checks addresses before sending, so businesses stop paying for and sending to dead
The Problem
Businesses that send email campaigns, collect signups, or send on behalf of customers accumulate dead or mistyped addresses in their lists. Sending platforms like Amazon SES, Brevo, and HubSpot suspend or review accounts once bounce rates cross thresholds (as low as 2-5%), and every bounce also degrades sender reputation, which affects whether all future mail arrives. For signup forms, a single mistyped address means a welcome email never arrives and a paying customer concludes the product doesn't work. For companies sending on behalf of customers, one client's dirty list can degrade deliverability for every other client sharing the same sending IPs.
The Solution
PricklyMails verifies each email address in real time by asking the receiving mail server whether a mailbox exists, without actually sending an email, and returns a clear verdict (send, review, or remove) with a score out of 100 and a stated reason. It catches typos (suggesting corrections like gmial.com to gmail.com), flags catch-all domains that accept any address, and identifies domains with null MX records or no MX record at all, as well as disposable email providers. Verification works through a dashboard, a single API call, batch list uploads, signed webhooks, or an MCP server that lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor verify addresses or clean lists directly. The company states it does not store addresses after verification (keeping only a one-way HMAC fingerprint), does not guess verdicts when a result can't be confirmed, refunds tokens for checks that got no answer from a mail server, and processes verification on servers in Germany with no processor outside the EU. Pricing is token-based across five tiers from Free to Enterprise, charging only for checks run rather than per email on a list.
