Proofsource
Proofsource tracks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews mention a brand
The Problem
Buyers increasingly ask AI engines for shortlists of brands, but these engines only name three to five brands per answer and there is no second page or click to measure if a brand is excluded. The page notes that 0.8% of AI citations point to a brand's own website, that 387 different websites were cited across just 80 answers, and that 43.5% of cited sources were comparison pages like listicles and alternatives pages. It also found that engines often answer from pre-existing beliefs rather than fresh information, with only 1 of 4 engines correctly describing a brand-new company in an unbranded test. Brands have no visibility into how often they are named, who is named instead, which pages AI trusts, or what inaccuracies engines repeat about them.
The Solution
Proofsource is a platform that measures AI visibility by sending buyer-style prompts to major engines and tracking mention rate, share of voice, and average position per engine, with a 95% Wilson confidence interval on each number. It builds a leaderboard of named competitors (including ones a brand may not have considered rivals) and lists the exact pages and domains engines cite for a given topic, flagging which ones mention the brand and whether they are open to a pitch or correction. It also checks for factual errors in how engines describe a brand, such as outdated pricing, tracing each wrong claim to a likely source page. Beyond tracking, it generates ranked fixes and content drafts meant to close visibility gaps, monitors AI-driven traffic, sends alerts when a competitor takes over a tracked question, and offers an MCP integration so users can ask ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or Cursor about their own brand directly.
