Qlo
Qlo builds AI agents that automate commercial insurance underwriting operations for carriers and MGAs.
The Problem
Commercial insurance underwriters handle a small number of real risk decisions surrounded by hundreds of mechanical steps: clearing submissions, extracting data from broker emails and attachments, building rating worksheets, attaching the right endorsements, and drafting quote letters. Today this work is done by hand across email, Excel, Word, and a policy administration system, with handoffs between underwriters and support staff. The page shows this concretely through a submission for Harborview Commons Property Owners Association, where a single broker email requires clearance, data extraction, rating, endorsement selection, and quote letter generation before it reaches the broker.
The Solution
Qlo is an AI-native system of record that sits underneath tools underwriters already use, like Outlook, and runs supervisor agents that coordinate specialized agents for submission intake, rating, endorsements, and document processing. In the demonstrated workflow, forwarding a broker submission email populates a rating worksheet with a parity check against the carrier's own Excel rating spreadsheet, attaches relevant endorsements based on state and subclass, drafts a quote option using default values, and generates a quote letter built from the carrier's own templates, which can then be sent back to the broker. The platform keeps a shared workspace where the underwriting team and the AI agents access the same account data, documents, and rules, with every action logged as an auditable, traceable record. Qlo is positioned to work alongside an existing policy administration system rather than replacing it, and the company offers onboarding of a new program onto its stack using a carrier's own forms and rates.
