The Problem

For many people, missing one day is not the real problem. The break becomes evidence that they cannot trust themselves, driving shame, avoidance and dropout. Most behaviour products reinforce this with streaks, resets and daily scores. They track activity but largely ignore the more revealing signal: how someone returns after stopping.

The Solution

RouteUp is built around return behaviour rather than perfect consistency. Users make small promises, complete them as evidence and return without resetting after time away. RouteUp records when they fall off, how they come back and how that pattern changes over time, turning behaviour into a personal evidence layer that helps users understand themselves and rebuild self-trust.

Why Now?

People now generate more behavioural data than ever, yet most products still measure performance rather than recovery. Personalised interpretation can finally turn long-term patterns into useful guidance, while growing fatigue with streaks creates room for a different model. RouteUp begins with the neglected moments when people stop, return and rebuild.

What Makes This Hard?

The interface can be copied, but the behavioural history and insight behind it cannot. Each user’s promises, pauses and returns create longitudinal evidence that becomes more valuable over time. The model comes from my psychology research, frontline addiction-services work and lived experience of rebuilding after addiction and psychosis. That combination shaped return logic that is difficult to reproduce as simply another streak feature.
