Seeing Systems
Seeing Systems builds low-cost drones and AI swarm software for military training and contested-theatre combat
The Problem
Modern militaries need large volumes of realistic drone operator training as well as affordable, expendable systems for one-way effector missions, but existing platforms are often too expensive to use at scale or too vulnerable to jamming in contested environments. The page also frames a coordination problem: a single operator today typically controls a single drone, limiting the ability to run synchronised multi-drone missions. Seeing Systems references testing in Ukraine, suggesting these are live battlefield constraints rather than theoretical ones.
The Solution
Seeing Systems makes two hardware platforms and one software system. Bandit is a cost-effective FPV platform built for high-volume training and attritable one-way effector missions, with a 30+ km range, 1.5kg max payload, and 115 km/h speed. Banshee is a modular, IPX7-waterproofed autonomous drone for contested theatres, using a fibre-optic-guided clip-in module to resist jamming, with modular radio components and upgradable hardware, software and payloads; it has 40+ km range, 35+ minute flight time, and 145+ km/h speed. Aerie, described as in development, is agentic swarm software meant to coordinate multiple drones into synchronised tactical units through an open, platform-agnostic ground control architecture.
Why Now?
The site frames its work around a shift described as "modern conflict, modern training," tying its training platform to how warfare itself is changing.
