The Problem

Shopify merchants deal with constant customer requests to change orders after checkout, such as wrong sizes, wrong shipping addresses, or forgotten items. Each of these becomes a support ticket that the page says costs $8-$15 to resolve manually, often taking 5-10 minutes of staff time. Ops teams end up manually editing orders inside the Shopify admin, risking inventory mismatches, wrong shipments, and chargebacks. Customers who cannot get a quick fix sometimes cancel the order entirely, costing the merchant the sale plus a refund processing fee.

The Solution

SelfServe embeds a branded self-service order editing portal into the Shopify customer account and order status page. Customers can swap products, change variants, adjust quantities, update shipping and contact details, or cancel orders themselves, all within rules the merchant defines, such as editing time windows and restrictions for final-sale or pre-order items. The system syncs changes with Shopify in real time, automatically collects or refunds payment differences, auto-reverts orders if payment isn't completed within 15 minutes, and logs every change in an activity log. It also supports automated order tagging to trigger Shopify Flow workflows, and lets merchants add post-purchase upsell recommendations with automatic discounts during the editing flow.
