The Problem

Professionals who use Slack, email, calendars and calls to coordinate work end up with tasks and promises scattered across many tools and conversations. Today they must manually remember or write down commitments like 'I'll send the deck tomorrow' and separately track issues in tools like Linear, Jira or Todoist. Keeping a to-do list current means manually checking it off after replying to a message, merging a pull request, or closing an issue, and manually pruning stale items. This creates a to-do list that is incomplete, out of date, or requires constant manual upkeep to stay useful.

The Solution

Sharpy is a native Mac app that reads Slack, Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, call transcripts and other connected tools (Linear, GitHub, Jira, Asana, Todoist, and more), plus any text visible on screen via macOS Accessibility, to automatically generate tasks from asks and promises. Each task links back to the source message. Tasks cross themselves off automatically when a reply is sent, a pull request merges, or an issue closes, and when Sharpy is unsure it asks the user directly (for example, whether to drop or reschedule a stale task). It offers a morning planning conversation, a quick-access overlay triggered by double-tapping a key, and drafts replies or calendar changes that require explicit user approval before sending. Through MCP, coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor and ChatGPT can also read and update the task list.
