Skymerse automates flight planning and operations monitoring for airlines, turning NOTAMs

The Problem

Airline operations teams reportedly spend around 3 hours of manual flight planning per flight, checking NOTAMs, weather, runway suitability, aircraft limits and company procedures by hand. Existing electronic flight bag providers put this aeronautical data on a screen, but dispatchers and crews still have to read and interpret it themselves to decide whether a flight can operate. Interpreting scattered NOTAMs, METARs, TAFs and operations manuals against a specific aircraft type and runway is slow and still depends on human judgment under time pressure.

The Solution

Skymerse ingests an airline's flight schedule directly from its OCC feed and checks every flight against live NOTAMs, weather (METAR/TAF) at departure, destination and alternates, aircraft-specific performance limits (crosswind, tailwind, runway length), and the airline's own operations manuals and minima. Instead of raw data, it outputs a verdict, such as whether a flight can operate on a given runway, with the specific NOTAM, weather or limit that drove the decision. The underlying data platform includes AIP extraction agents and a custom aeronautical model for ops labeling and decision-making. Its first product, Notamify, already processes NOTAMs into airline-specific briefings and is described as in production with airline customers and thousands of daily users.

Why Now?

The page frames the industry as moving from paper cockpits to electronic flight bags, and argues the next step is 'no-chart operations' where decisions, not just data, are delivered automatically.
