this+that turns the requests buried in email, Slack and Teams into a shared company knowledge base and assigned tasks
The Problem
Teams too small to have someone whose job is keeping everyone current lose track of operational knowledge that only ever lived in a message: a sprint commitment in a Slack thread, a price quoted in one rep's sent folder, a billing address change buried in a Teams chat. The page describes reps answering customers differently because the last quote only exists in one inbox, approvals tracked in a spreadsheet nobody updates, and engineers missing commitments made in threads they weren't part of. This knowledge is described as 'born in your messages, stale by tomorrow,' distinct from both structured systems of record (Salesforce, Workday) and stable documents like a wiki, and the page cites published research on how much of it never gets written down at all.
The Solution
this+that is built around two linked parts: a Brain that stores a company's operational knowledge (pricing, account state, playbooks) and Workflows that act on it instead of guessing. DoBox scans connected channels and turns requests in messages into tasks with an owner and due date; Contacts assembles an address book automatically from the same channels. An assistant agent sits in the inbox and can draft replies, find threads, or check calendars across email, calendar and chat, with voice support on mobile. Workflows write back to the Brain as they run (for example updating a Notion timeline or reissuing an invoice to a new address), and updates to the Brain are proposed and then approved by the team rather than applied automatically. It connects to Gmail, Slack, Teams, Notion, Trello, HubSpot, and other tools via an MCP server.
