Timebox.so
Timebox.so is a drag-and-drop timeboxing app that helps people plan deep work by structuring their day into hourly block
The Problem
People who rely on calendars and email to manage their day find that these tools end up controlling them instead, leading to constant distractions and a workday that feels neverending. Hard, important tasks get interrupted because there is no defined start and end to focused work. The founder describes personally struggling with paper notebooks for timeboxing, filling them up and being unable to locate past entries. Existing digital tools were either subscription-based, overly complex time managers, or stylized to-do lists that did not follow Cal Newport's timeboxing method, leaving a gap for an affordable, purpose-built solution.
The Solution
Timebox.so is a deep work planner built around Cal Newport's timeboxing method, letting users drag and drop to-do items into an hourly schedule to allocate dedicated time for tasks. It combines a to-do list with sub-tasks and tags, a separate 'to-do later' list to keep the daily list focused, Notion-style daily notes for capturing thoughts, and an activity calendar to track to-do completion over time. It also syncs with Google Calendar so users can see their timeboxed schedule alongside existing events, and offers dark mode and cloud storage. The product is positioned against Cal Newport's physical Time Block Planner, offering equivalent daily planning and notes features plus tagging, calendar sync, cloud storage and analytics that the paper planner lacks.
