Ultrametric
Ultrametric gives founders AI-agent playbooks and vendor rankings for running a startup's operations
The Problem
Founders have to work through dozens of repetitive startup processes, incorporating, getting an EIN, opening a bank account, picking tools for chat, storage, payroll and more, usually by piecing together advice from blog posts or trial and error. When something urgent happens, a hijacked domain, a frozen bank account, a lawsuit, a cofounder departure, there is rarely a ready playbook for what to do and in what order. Vendor choice is also hard because it is unclear which products actually work well with AI agents versus which still require manual, human-only steps. Ultrametric's own data shows this gap concretely: many founder tasks, like registering an agent or setting up a registered address, currently have a 0 to 20 percent 'agentic' completion rate, meaning most of the work still falls on a human.
The Solution
Ultrametric publishes an installable CLI/MCP prompt so a founder's existing AI agent (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, etc.) can carry out startup processes using Ultrametric's cited research instead of guessing. It maintains vendor rankings scored on an overall score and an 'agent-ready' score across categories like payments, banking, auth, and coding agents, plus a map of founder processes (formation, money and finance, running operations) each tied to a measured 'agentic %' showing how much of that task can currently be automated. It also catalogs specific company 'situations', such as a data breach, a pulled term sheet, or a harassment complaint, with an urgency level and routed steps. All of this, the rankings, processes, situations, legal rules, and supporting documents, is published as an open repo that outside contributors can edit via pull requests. The tool runs no model of its own; it works on top of whatever AI plan or agent the company already uses.
Why Now?
The site frames the moment as an 'agentic era' where companies can increasingly run their own operations and code through AI agents, and argues founders need agent-ready research and tooling to take advantage of that shift now.
