The Problem

Athletes who train regularly, such as runners, lifters, cyclists, triathletes, and team-sport players, need to decide each day whether to train hard, modify a session, or back off. Today many rely on HRV alone or simply on how they feel, which misses important context: sleep affects recovery, reaction time reflects CNS fatigue that HRV can miss, and subjective feel can catch illness and stress earlier than physiology does. Most wearable readiness scores only use one or two inputs, usually HRV and sleep, leaving athletes to interpret incomplete or conflicting signals without a single clear answer about training readiness.

The Solution

umo is a neuroscience-based readiness platform that enriches the data from wearables athletes already own rather than requiring new hardware. It syncs with Apple Health, Garmin, Oura, Fitbit, Whoop, Elite HRV, Coros, and Polar, and combines heart rate variability, sleep (time, architecture, consistency), a quick reaction time test, tremor measured via accelerometer, and a subjective wellness check-in into a single daily Neuroscore between 0 and 100. A score above 75 generally signals readiness for a hard session, while a score below 65 suggests backing off or modifying the plan, and umo shows trends over time alongside the daily number. The platform also offers a version for coaches to manage athletes across a roster, and provides supporting tools like a blog, 1RM calculator, ACWR calculator, HRV calculator, sleep debt calculator, and glossary.
