The Problem

Teams relying on basic uptime checks can be told a site is up when visitors actually see a broken page, an injected script or a missing checkout button. One customer review describes manually checking every client site because plugin updates, SSL issues or hosting problems only surfaced after a client complained. A grouped example shows three sites on one server returning HTTP 503 while the server's agent still reports as fine, which would normally trigger three separate alerts for one root cause. Standard monitoring also misses visual regressions, like a sale page that changed 62% while the uptime check still reported the site as up.

The Solution

Visual Sentinel combines uptime checks with screenshot-based visual monitoring, comparing each page against its last good capture to catch broken layouts, missing sections or injected scripts even when the server still responds. It also covers SSL certificate expiry, DNS record changes, content and keyword changes, API and endpoint checks (REST, GraphQL, WebSocket), and server metrics (CPU, memory, disk) via a lightweight agent or linked hosting account. Related failures on a shared server are grouped into one incident and one alert instead of one per site. Failures are confirmed by a second check, optionally from another region, before alerting, with dynamic page elements excludable by CSS selector to reduce false alarms. Alerts can be sent to Slack, Discord, Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, webhooks, email or push/mobile apps, and the product can be driven from AI agents like Cursor, Claude or ChatGPT. It also offers branded status pages and white-label client reports for agencies.
