Wideframe
Wideframe is a Mac app that acts as an AI assistant editor, prepping raw footage into ready-to-cut Premiere Pro
The Problem
Video editors spend hours on preparation work before they can start creative editing: searching through raw clips, labeling footage, syncing multicam, and organizing bins. The page states editors spend more time preparing than editing, and that a significant share of banked footage never makes it into a final cut. This prep work falls on editors even though it is described as work a machine should handle, taking time away from storytelling. Editors who want to use AI tools today face a patchwork of separate subscriptions, each with its own credit system, for tasks like transcription, generation, and dubbing.
The Solution
Wideframe is a native Mac app (requiring Apple Silicon) that analyzes a user's footage library, whether on local drives or cloud storage, by transcribing clips, labeling speakers, and indexing content by meaning without moving source files. Editors give it plain-English instructions, such as stringing out A-roll from an interview in transcript order or syncing multicam footage from a shoot, and Wideframe returns a native .prproj file with clips assembled on the timeline, ready to open and finish in Premiere Pro. The $100/month plan bundles over 30 ready-made editing skills (multicam sync, pull selects, interview stringouts, captions, bin organization), transcription and speaker labeling, and access to third-party generation models for video (Veo 3.1, Sora 2), images (Nano Banana 2, GPT-Image-2), voiceover/music (ElevenLabs), and lipsync dubbing (HeyGen), along with the ability to read, write, and edit .prproj files directly.
