The Problem

Freelancers, small agencies, and solo developers who maintain several WordPress sites today have to log into each site's wp-admin separately to check for updates, manage users, or run backups. This means juggling bookmark folders full of wp-admin links and repeating the same tasks site by site through browser tabs. Site owners who want basic maintenance done without living inside the WordPress dashboard face the same repetitive, browser-bound workflow. This costs time and creates risk, since updates are pushed without an easy way to back up first or check for known vulnerabilities beforehand.

The Solution

WP Foundry is a desktop app for Mac, Windows, and Linux that connects to WordPress sites through a small helper plugin installed on each site, using a shared secret over HTTPS. Once connected, users can update plugins, themes, and core across sites in bulk, back up plugin or theme archives before making changes, manage users and roles, and run checks against known plugin and theme vulnerabilities. Long-running jobs go into a queue so the user can keep working, and command logs record what ran. All site URLs, secrets, and data are stored in a local database on the user's machine; there is no cloud account or syncing involved.
